Dunkin’ Donuts as a Healthy Alternative?

I came back to the office yesterday with a couple Dunkin Donuts bags and drink carrier. I was met with raised eyebrows. “What were you doing at Dunkin Donuts?” Anyone who knows me knows that I never, unless under great duress, eat at fast food “restaurants”.
So, why am I having Dunkin Donuts for lunch? I had recently been told about the DDSmart menu (introduced this past August 2008) and wanted to try some of their “smart” offerings. There’s a reason for this madness: I was stranded in the airport the other day with the none too appealing dinner choices of  [...]

MyShape.com – Fun & Efficient Shopping

I just read the Fast Company article on the most influential women in technology. Aside from inspiring factor of the article, I was reminded of the MyShape.com website for which its founder, Louise Wannier was featured under the Entrepreneurs category. Read the Fast Company article HERE.
I had not been on the MyShape.com website in eons. Its latest iteration is fantastic. The concept: the customer enters all her measurements and style preferences and then gets matched up with well fitting clothing in her personal style. The style part is subjective of course! Personally, since I find most stores in my [...]

Turkish Delights Now Available at Anthropologie

Woohoo! I knew I had an eye! I proudly displayed the beautiful handmade jewelry acquired (and since given away as gifts) on a recent trip to Turkey in this article HERE.
Similar necklaces are now available at Anthropologie. At three times the price, bien sur, but at least you don’t have to pay for airfare. And, they are listed on their “Pow! Accessories” page, no less.
I’m taking it as a personal compliment.

CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain – Fun Lip Marker

I wrote about the Bourjois Lip Stain Pen almost two years ago, an almost identical product to the CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain. I loved wearing it and was disappointed when I noticed that I could not replenish the discontinued product. So, I was curious when I saw that CoverGirl had very recently released an almost indistinguishable version: the Outlast Lipstain.
The Outlast Lipstain, just as the Bourjois version, is easily applied like a marker (it is a marker tip) that transfers a lightweight flush of color without the heavy look or feel of regular lip lipstick.
The product’s claims that it lasts 6 [...]

Still Thinking Valentine’s Day Gifts: The Luscious Scandle Body Massage Candle

I sold massage candles similar to these when I had the shop. And while they were not nearly as luxurious, they were a resounding hit. So, I was quite excited to find the Scandle Body Massage Candle (what a great name!) to propose as an oh-so-affordable Valentine’s Day gift idea.
The Scandle combines two perfectly paired items to stage a romantic scene: a deliciously scented candle that becomes a fragrant massage oil. The candle, when burned, melts to create soothing massage oil. And, good to know for off-nights: the Scandle is enriched with Vitamin E and works wonderfully as body moisturizer [...]

Need to vent? Break something!

Should you ever find yourself angry, stressed and/or frustrated while in San Diego, I thought that you’d like to know about this useful little place: Sarah’s Smash Shack is a unique shop that houses two “break rooms” where you can legally, freely and uninhibitedly go in and break stuff.
There is, in fact, a whole menu of things to break. Among them, you can get the House Special for $35 or bring your own breakables for a “corkage fee”. You can also  bring your own music to smash to your own rhythms.

I think that every major metropolitan area deserves one of [...]

Thinking Valentine’s Day Gifts: Jo Malone’s Cologne Collection

I’m in love with this Miniature Cologne Collection that my husband offered me for Christmas. And, with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I thought that this would be a great gift idea for some of the more treasured women in your life. Or you might need to bookmark this for Mother’s Day too.
Jo Malone is now a well known British perfume and fragrance savant. Her fragrance related products are sold in her boutiques around to world as well as in high end retail stores. But her beginnings were modest. She followed in her mother’s footsteps and became a facialist [...]
