I love a good advertising campaign. The video that you see below is actually a “live performance advertisement”, which was performed in front of a live, unsuspecting movie-going audience.
The message is clear: so many inexpensive clothing pieces that you can afford to …Go a Little Crazy! This technique is called “marketing disruption”. If advertising was always this entertaining, I’d be ok with being disrupted at any time. Hear the audience cheer at the performance.
I think that Daffy’s brand was beautifully captured in this buzz-building “ad” and makes me greatly regret that Daffy’s doesn’t have a Chicago location (Yet?). Take a [...]

The Necklush™ (available in various lengths and colors) is an all-in-one scarf, cowl and necklace made of multiple seamless loops that creates a very stylish and modern look. I got mine on 1000markets (this one to be exact) and am assaulted by comments and compliments every time I wear it.
Two absolutely charming gentlemen created the Necklush, Troy and Stephano. I was so enamored with their product that I had to feature them here and had to ask them a few questions about their backgrounds and inspirations.:
I’d love to know more about the Troy & Stephano creative partnership. What creative vision [...]

Bento boxes traditionally serve beautifully displayed portioned lunches. In this case the Bento gift boxes serve carefully selected and delightfully arranged gift items. Nifty, is how Mimi Kolb, the creator of the Bento Box Gifts likes to put it. Her gift boxes are offered by themes, each featuring unusual and amusing, uh, nifty, gift items.
Mimi has always being a careful gift giver who has preferred to give meaningful packages filled with a themed group of little surprises to delight her gift recipients. As an art director and graphic designer, her style led her to fall in love with the Japanese [...]

Khelly and Jerry have a dream. It’s called the DO Tank! You know, instead of Think Tank, just thinking about it, actually do it! The DO Tank! will be a mentorship organization that will help to fund the dreams of small businesses or value-rich projects.
What does this have to do with the winning-an-8000-sq-ft-with-interior-pool-house contest? Well, in leading by example, Khelly and Jerry who could not sell their house in this crappy market in order to fund DO Tank! got very creative and decided to raffle it off. And so, the 200 Story Home Art Contest was launched. Everything that Khelly [...]

The Battle for Milkquarious is a new campaign from the California Milk Processor Board. It targets t(w)eenagers. I think that they totally nailed it. The online movie (don’t you dare call it a video) is kinda like a Rocky Horror Picture Show… for milk. I’m imagining the t(w)eens throwing around White Gold’s (the main character) lyrics or busting moves à la Strawberry Summers (the love interest) or Jug Life (the sidekick).
A fun pastiche that even had me cracking a smile every now and then. Too bad I keep seeing Ben Stiller in the starring role. The starring role is [...]

A French campaign helps us to visualize the amount of garbage that every person produces in a year. That’s approximately 390kg or just under 900 lbs per person. An illustration is worth a thousand words indeed.

Is it too early to talk holiday gifts? Year after year, I’m appalled at the early Christmas displays. It stresses me out. Yet, when I saw the Kymera Magic Wand, I sighed with relief, several “gifts for him” now already crossed off the shopping list. Phew.
The wand is a gadget in every aspect, but one that gives a whole new meaning to “sleight of hand”.
It works with almost any device that can be remote controlled, with infra-red beams and a “learning” microchip to learn the code from the equipment’s original remote.
Simpler than it seems, we’re told that most [...]

I’ve just moved to the Midwest after 15 years in Las Vegas and SoCal. Everyone asked if I was aware of the winters here, as if I had just completely lost my mind. As a native Montrealer, I remember winters. But, living in denial of what below freezing temperatures might really feel like, I still hold a romantic nostalgia of the first bites of frost, the ones that prompted the cocooning feeling of wrapping myself in some new warm and cozy winter accessory. Well, this will be my first winter back in the cold and I will be well prepared! I [...]

I’ve found all sorts of things on my quest to renew my Halloween decoration and props inventory. I love the Hallowindow DVD idea, but I don’t want to antagonize my new neighbors just yet. So, I looked up other ideas, and though I may not use all of these, I thought I would highlight my favorites and the resource-rich Do-It-Yourself sites where these do-able Halloween projects can found.
Mad Scientist Jars
I love these jars. They definitely appeal to the darker side of Halloween. So easy to make. Augment the creepiness with complementary props (lots in the websites mentioned below). Visit the [...]
