Candy Cottage for Any Occasion, Season or Rainy Day Activity

Every holiday season the girls and I, with their grandmother, make a gingerbread house. When I started this family tradition, our now 20-year-old son was very young. Grandma and I would make the house from scratch and then he would have the honors of decorating it. Because the enjoyment for the kids was really in the decorating of the house, by the time we had our second child I had started purchasing the gingerbread house kits.

I am now thrilled to see there is an even easier way to continue the tradition with less time, mess and waste (who eats the gingerbread house anyway?) The Candy Cottage is a reusable, washable plastic house that can be decorated again and again – for any occasion, season or something to do on a rainy day. The sturdy walls and roof snaps together in seconds and it comes apart for easy storage. No longer do I need to worry about the house collapsing will many hands pushing candy and such into the icing.

By using your own candies and decorating ideas you can create the right house for any occasion. The house is 14″ w by 10″ h in size and the party pack of four homes (perfect for a get together activity) are 6″ w by  8″ h. To purchase go to the Candy Cottage and look for a local retailer near you or buy online for $19.99 – $29.99.

Very clever! We could get pretty creative with that template.

You are right, the house never gets eaten. I love the candy corn roof shingles!

That IS a great idea! And it would make a great gift, as well.
PS: I have eaten a few of my gingerbread houses! A little stale! But oh so good!

I love that this is re-usable and can be used for virtually any holiday, any time of year. Candy houses are not just for Christmas anymore!

Oh, these are so great! Definitely going to be trying it out. Would definitely make a great Christmas gift as well.

Love this! You’re right no one ever eats the actual house anyways, I mean especially after it sat there for a week or so for decoration so the kids can admire what they’ve done.
