For you Oilily addicts out there… Hurry!!! If you don’t have an Oilily nearby, take a look at the website and call any store to speak with one of their lovely salespeople. If they don’t have the item on hand, they will look to source it for you. You can always return it if it doesn’t fit.

I have certainly tried my fair share of pseudo long-lasting lipsticks and lipcolors over the years . I always found them to be just…ok. And, I should also mention painful! (Remember Lip Sense from Sene Gence???? Ouch!) These so called long-lasting colors would last through a cocktail hour and then part of a meal. They never did make it through the promised 14, 16, 18 hours. Instead, when I needed to reapply, I always found that the initial layer would trigger a whole unpleasant “peeling off” effect. Not fun.
Undaunted, and still looking for that true long-lasting solution, I’m happy to [...]

I was very excited to see that one of my all time favorite brands, lululemon athletica, was featured on Oprah yesterday in one of those fashion makeover episodes. This gives the brand a whole new level of must-have.
Lloyd Boston, author of Before You Put That On, picked the lululemon outfit for this woman that was lost in the 80′s with her workout wear. I love how he “converted” her workout outfit to a casual city outfit by changing the jacket for a cardigan and suggesting the change of shoes. But truly, this would explain one of the reason I so [...]

I’m thrilled to have hosted one of the first lululemon events in Las Vegas. It happened in the form of a “kitchen party” – aka a home shopping party – held in my very own…kitchen. Sue and Heather, the lovely and gracious lululemon representatives in Las Vegas brought in delicious munchies from Whole Foods and ordered lululemon clothing for our guests to try on. This party served as an event to raise brand awareness before the store opens in a couple of months.
I think that everyone in attendance bought something…

I have been wearing Oilily Clothing for almost ten years now. It wasn’t a new discovery even then as I remember my mom buying an ultra colorful winter coat for my younger sister years and years ago. But the store was new in Costa Mesa, CA when I rediscovered the brand. And I remember being immediately attracted to the playfulness of the colors, the patterns, the details in the design. Like the petticoat under the skirt, laced with ribbons and other tactile details and which main function – since this part of the garment is not visible – is simply [...]

Terra Plana was founded by the sons of the Clarks footwear chain. They make footwear from recycled car tires, old army blankets, car seats and other recycled materials.
Inspired by ecological survival, Terra Plana believes in a variety of non-generic products and sustainable strategies. Their shoes are designed so that they can be kept for life. “Reparability, lightness, anatomic design, and durability are all staples of sustainable shoe making”. All that AND style too!
Our society of consumerism has lead us into purchasing almost exclusively disposable goods. Doesn’t work? Throw it! Buy another one! Huh? I remember my parents bringing all their [...]

I was introduced to lululemon by my sister, Liza, a brilliant ballerina, now yoga and Pilates instructor, among other things… She took me shopping in the lululemon store in Montreal for the first time about 4 years ago. We don’t have a lululemon store here in Las Vegas and I guess that my sense of withdrawal is what prompted this post. Every time I go back to visit (Montreal being my hometown), I make sure to drop by the store and check out what’s new. No matter what time of day, the store is always packed with items quite literally [...]

For Her, For Him, Loving This... »
I can’t relate. Have been married (to the same wonderful man) for almost 19 years, but I know that a few of my friends might find this a useful tool — in certain environments! Whether one celebrates being single or needs to “advertise” that the fact, the Singelringen (in Swedish, where the company is from) is a cute and potentially very effective concept. As the Web site says: “There are engagement rings and wedding rings, but there was no such thing as a ring for single men and women. Why not? If anyone needs to signal one’s civil status, it’s [...]

I ordered this product from Sephora after reading about it in some magazine or another. Although I love my Mac blush, after 25 years or so of using some color variation or another of Mocha, I needed to try something NEW!!! The O-glow is like playing. Or rather, do you remember applying makeup to your Barbie Styling Head? That’s what it feels like. The O-Glow color just glides on, darkens to a strawberry pink as you first dab it on and then smooths out as you spread the color. It’s very forgiving in that it’s not a stain and you [...]

I just got the Level 99 pair of wide leg jeans that I ordered from the very cute Polkadots & Moonbeams shop. These were so very hard
to find. They’ve been sold out forever.
Denim style, these wide legs pants are a flattering fit for the more curvaceous among us. Indeed, The waist actually fit as well as the hips. Those of you with this body type know too well about the gaping waits around pants. Oy!
Fitted around the derriere with a nice non-clingy wide leg. And, for a designer jean, the price is right at $98. Love the light fabric which [...]
