Eric Schlosser’s Fast Food Nation (2001) book really got me started in 2001 (read excerpts here). Hardly walked into a McD again unless under extreme duress (when there were NO better choices. It happens). It was the eye-opener that I needed. I’m afraid that Food, Inc. might just push me over the edge and I’ll become a fanatical activist. Still, we should all be informed about a product that determines our survival, don’t you think?

OMG!!! I just bought one of these Orbit Brushes. Anyone who has a little girl, even one with straight hair, knows that brushing their hair can start the morning off on the very, very, very wrong foot. Which is why you see so many little girls with birds’ nests in their hair. A bird’s nest is preferable, by far, to the tears and screaming that come from detangling hair. A thankless and time consuming job if there ever was one.

I am always in awe of these creative souls that can take something so seemingly banal (in this case, an Excel spreadsheet) and create art from it.
What a great gift idea for the person who is working in Excel spreadsheets all day! Danielle Aubert definitely gives a whole new, colorful perspective. It seems that the book is available at Project no. 8 with a limited edition of 350 copies. Seems like there is not time to waste. Hurry!
