Chocolate & Wine & Cheese – Vosges is taking me to the edge…
My family loves to start celebrating Christmas on Christmas Eve. It’s always been part of my family’s tradition, on both sides, my mom, the French Canadian and my dad, the European.
I always thought of Christmas Eve as the most magical part of Christmas, mostly because as a kid, I remember that is added another day of enchantment. Santa (le Père Nöel) always came at midnight on Christmas Eve. We never had to wait till morning!
Since we now spend many of our holidays 3000 miles away from our families, we have, over the years, instilled our own new “traditions” to make the holidays special and meaningful. While my mom used to prepare an elaborate meal for the occasion, we prefer to create a cornucopia buffet of each of our favorite delights. For my kids, it can be anything from homemade Mac n’cheese, to bruschetta, to French onion soup and chocolate cake. For my husband, it’s oysters and fancy pâtés with a dry martini and macaroons. For me, it’s always been fancy, stinky cheeses with a crisp baguette, a great bottle of red wine and chocolate.
So imagine my absolute thrill when I fell upon the Vosges Cheese and Chocolate Gift Box!!!! Ok, at $295, it’s a little pricey, but let me explain!
Katrina Markoff, the brilliant owner and chocolatier for Vosges, is nothing if not passionate. The very exclusive, sophisticated and epicurean Cheese and Chocolate combo is the result of one of her latest passionate obsessions when she realized that many of our most favorite foods (chocolate, wine, cheese, miso, tea, pickles…) had one thing in common: fermentation. And it’s in exploring this commonality that Katrina introduced her remarkable Vosges Cheese and Chocolate gift box. As the description accurately extols, this is a collection for foodies and die-hard chocolate and cheese addicts (moi). See the whole decadent product description here.
If you have not yet tried a Vosges concoction, you simply must. It’s not just chocolate or food, it’s an experience. I’ve mentioned the Vosges Exotic Caramel Collection before. Oh my. Katrina’s obsessions are certainly paying off as she introduces incredible new combinations to our palate. For the guys, I really like the Beer & Chocolate combo or the Wine & Chocolate gift boxes. How can you miss?
It’s going to be a tasty Christmas!

My neighbor brought me some Vosges back from Chicago a couple of times and I am also HOOKED> Now, find out she’s moving there. I’ll have my own supplier
My new latest obsession is the Indian curry and coconut truffle. To die for. You are so lucky to have this gift box. And a Vosges near you, yes?
