CLEVER FIND: Toastabags

By Audrey van Petegem, Senior Editor

I love discovering products that make my life easier in the kitchen and with my small kitchen it is imperative that these clever finds take little or no space in my cupboards or drawers. Grilled cheese sandwiches are a quick meal staple in our home and to find something that allows my six year old daughter the ability to make one herself is pure genius.

The Toastabags allows you to make grilled cheese sandwiches in a regular toaster. Just stick the sandwich in the bag and toast to your liking. The grilled cheese comes out perfectly every time and the bag cleans up easily with soapy water or in the dishwasher. Although I help my daughter take it out of the toaster, she will rinse the bag out while I cut her grilled cheese sandwich for her.

I personally love my panini machine but the Toastabags are so convenient, cost much less and takes virtually no space to store. I assemble my sandwich with cheese, onion, tomatoes and basil. Using the Toastabag the onion softened nicely in the melted cheese. The only difference from grilling it in the panini is that the toaster version does not have the panini grill marks. These bags are also great for anything that needs to be crisp when reheated, such as  fish sticks, onion rings and french fries or even pizza. Toastabags are a great solution for the college student who has a toaster or toaster oven in their room.

Each package contains two bags and each bag can be used up to 100 times. Buy the toastabags directly from Amazon for under $8.00.

And P.S., you might want some of these: Bamboo Toast Tongs. These are the best thing for taking hot toast out of the toaster and perfect for retrieving your grilled cheese out of the toastabags.  Buy on Amazon for about $6.00.
