CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain – Fun Lip Marker
I wrote about the Bourjois Lip Stain Pen almost two years ago, an almost identical product to the CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain. I loved wearing it and was disappointed when I noticed that I could not replenish the discontinued product. So, I was curious when I saw that CoverGirl had very recently released an almost indistinguishable version: the Outlast Lipstain.
The Outlast Lipstain, just as the Bourjois version, is easily applied like a marker (it is a marker tip) that transfers a lightweight flush of color without the heavy look or feel of regular lip lipstick.
The product’s claims that it lasts 6 hours have not proved to be true for me, especially if a meal is involved at any
point during those 6 hours (which would always by the case for me). But still, what I like about lip stains of this variety is the very natural, lip-bitten, fresh – did I say natural - look that they produce. This is great for all those occasion when one doesn’t want to look “made up”. Caveat: this formula does not moisturize the lips, so gloss or balm worn over top of the lip stain is how I need to wear mine.
Also, a common complaint that I’ve heard is that the color chart is misleading. I got the 420/Sassy Mauve wanting to go neutral, but the packaging color looks nothing like it does on the lips. In fact, it goes on much darker. Shades seen on the website are not even close. So choose a lighter color than you usually would.
It bought mine at Target for $7.29. I think it’s worth you trying it if you like playing…

I sell this stuff for Mark Makeup, they have had this line since before anyone has, i think about 3 or 4 years ago. I much prefer mark, and not to mention its only 7.00 no tax from your rep. I hate how everyone in their reviews have nothing but bad stuff to say, and its all the same complaints, that its too dark, it accentuates cracks, and you cant make it lighter. Well sorry to burst your bubbles, but i’ve been a makeup artist for a while and even i know that even with the crappiest makeup out there, you can still make it look bomb, its all in the application process. I tell everyone, you wouldnt paint a water color painting onto a greasy dirty canvas would you? Same with this lip tint, its water based, so clean those lips, exfoliate, and take care of em so they dont get those dredded cracks…
I race an offroad truck for a living, and i was so ecited when i found this product. I was tired of getting my pic taken after a race and looking like a pale lipped zombie. I put this stuff on and even with all of the lip licking and dirt wiping i do off of my face, it still stays on, after 4 hours of abuse in the desert.
I highly reccomend it, just practice your application techniques and experiment and you’ll see its the best lip product out there.
Hi there. I’ve been on the lookout for the right color for a lip stain, and I found your blog. I know it’s been a while since this entry was published, but I was wondering if the lips in this picture is wearing any of those colors, and which one it is. I love it and I think it would be the perfect color for me. Thank you and have a splendid day!
