I Want My RoC Back! RoC’s New Multi-Correction Line Shows Early Promise
By Marjie Killeen, Contributor- Midlife Wisdom
I had the opportunity to test the RoC brand’s new anti-aging skin care line during my recent trip to Ireland. I figured my vacation was a good time to put RoC’s Multi-Correction 5 in1 products through their paces, because 1) travel is tough on the skin, 2) I’d have a lot of free time to look in the mirror, and 3) I could treat it like a mini-spa treatment and how fun is that?
RoC’s Multi Correction Line up includes these three products:
- 5 in 1 Daily Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen
- 5 in 1 Eye Cream
- 5 in 1 Restoring Night Cream
I loved the idea of the multi purpose products. Many times I’ve been in a cosmetics department and a sales person will approach and ask, “What’s your biggest skin care concern?” What a rotten question to ask a 50 year-old woman! I have tons of concerns – like wrinkles and dark circles and hyper-pigmentation and dull skin for starters. How can I pick just one? But I’ve never been able to articulate all that to the salesperson, so instead I’d mutter an excuse and slink away.
But this new RoC line is supposed to handle all of my issues and more. The moisturizer is intended to improve “discoloration, sagging, dryness, dull tone, and wrinkles” and the eye cream improves look of “dark circles, puffiness, dryness, dull tone and wrinkles.” I was excited to try them out.
I received the full sized products from RoC and I wasn’t sure if I could pack them in my hand luggage, so I began the test by slathering on the eye cream and the night cream before leaving for the airport, then packing the products in their own travelling pouch in my suitcase for when I arrived in Cork the following morning. The creams smelled fresh and felt pleasantly smooth and nourishing on my skin.
For the next week I used the Daily Moisturizer every morning and the Restoring Night Cream every night. I used the Eye Cream both in the morning and at night. After just a few days, I definitely noticed that the texture of my skin felt smoother and my complexion appeared a bit more even. But the biggest change I noticed was the visible lightening of the areas under my eyes. My bags seemed less baggy and the dark shadows I’ve been told are hereditary definitely brightened up. What an amazing development! The fine lines around my eyes even seemed a tad less noticeable.
As I packed up my suitcase to return home to Chicago, I returned the three products back into their special little pouch and into my suitcase. And that, I’m afraid, turned out to be a big mistake. Because through a series of travel mishaps that I won’t bore you with here, my luggage has gone missing. One week later, I’m still without my suitcase. I don’t have my running shoes, my favorite jeans, my gold necklace or my night guard. And, I don’t have my RoC Multi Correction creams, which really seemed to be working.
Hey American Airlines, I want my RoC back!
I guess if I don’t get my suitcase back, I can just go out and buy the Roc products. They’ll be in food, drug and mass merchandise stores this month for about $29 each.
