Lancôme’s Cils Booster XL Mascara Base – Love it!

12 January 2009 Leave a Comment

lancome-cil-booster-xlI got this product from my mom as part of my Christmas loot. Whatever she gives me, I always like the surprises and introduction to products I would not necessarily be buying myself.

I’ve tried other “dual” mascaras with mascara bases before – I don’t even remember which brand – and promptly gave up on the idea after I realized that the results were hardly noticeable. Just not worth the effort or the cost. The Lancôme’s Cils Booster, however, is a totally different story.

I’ve been using the Cils Booster XL base under my tried-and-true L’Oréal Voluminous mascara for the last few days… with great results. This product does give mascara a “boost” in volume and seems to facilitate its application by minimizing clumping and allowing me to be done in just one coat. But actually, what I like best about it is that it really helps the mascara last a LOT longer. My mascara typically flakes off or otherwise vanishes by mid afternoon, but the Cils Booster helps it stay put until I’m ready to take it off. Love that!

Oh, by the way, signing up for a Lancôme newsletter (same with the other beauty product lines) will alert you to gift-with-purchase and free shipping promotions. That’s the way I shop for my beauty staples now. And BTW again, “cils” means lashes in French!
