My Favorite Quote Ever

24 May 2007 2 Comments

From Marianne Williamson’s book, “A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles”.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.   It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?  Actually, who are you NOT to be?  Your playing small does not serve the world.  There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel unsure around you.  We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.  It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.  As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates other.”

I continuously refer to this quote and was discussing it again with friends a couple of nights again, which reminded me to share it on this blog. Even if you’ve already read it a thousand times, you need to read it AGAIN!. It’s still a great reminder that we can become as splendid as we choose to be. Thank you Marianne Williamson!

      Hello
I followed your link from fabulously40. Love the site by the way. Love that white dress in one of your posts and that quote is one of my favorites. I end one of my upcoming articles with that quote. It’s so true and fitting for so many of us. Love what you are doing here. If I decide to do a featured site on my own site, yours will be the first. Love it. Thanks for sharing these wonderful, creative women with the world. dawn
