Oilily’s Summer of Love Spring-Summer 09 Collection
I’m a bona fide Oilily addict… for all the reasons that I’ve mentioned before (fashion that withstands trends, high quality, quirky, enduring color palette, etc…) and I am falling for quite a few pieces this season.
The Summer of Love Collection is definitely carefree and casual. As its name infers, it displays a clear 1960’s hippie chic vibe. Liam Maher, Oilily’s creative director, mentions that the collection was meant to show a sense of liberation, optimism, self-expression and experimentation. For me, that’s always been what Oilily is all about, except that there is a little more flower power ummmphh behind it all this time. You’ll still find the trademark outstanding prints and graphics, high quality fabrics and abundant detailing.
Unfortunately, the photos do not do justice to the pieces, which are each crafted to reveal detail after detail to delight the wearer and the keen observer. This is a collection to be seen in person. Here are some pieces that I’d enjoy mix and matching:
And, enjoy the casualness of it all now, because the Fall/Winter 09 Oilily Collection is all about old world glitz. Gold patina anyone?
