ReplyForAll – Email For a Good Cause

19 February 2009 One Comment

What a brilliant win-win-win idea. Anyone with a Gmail or Yahoo account (the only participants thus far) can add a banner to their email signature to support a global cause. This is absolutely free to the user and is as easy as joining ReplyforAll and then downloading the plugin, though one must be using Firefox (and if you’re still using IE, you just need to switch anyhow. IE is just so… passé). Once the cause is picked out (Cure for Cancer, Stop AIDS, Children’s Rights, Animal Rights, Education, etc…), the email signature banner displaying that cause appears with every message, disseminating funds as supplied by the sponsors who’s names also appear in the banner.

The win-win-win?
•    The user (moi) looks good by showing support for a favorite cause. The more emails I send, the more my cause-of-choice receives funds, gracieuseté of the sponsors
•    The various worthy causes have found a way to receive hassle-free fund raising
•    The sponsors (TOMS Shoes, Virgin Mobile, The Body Shop) also get to look real good, being so directly and so closely associated to meaningful global causes. Great brand building through clever advertising strategies.

The ReplyforAll just launched a few months ago and you can already see the impact here. That’s with one little email at a time. Here’s what my ReplyforAll Gmail sig looks like:

Go here to get yours. Oh, and please spread the word. By email, bien sûr!
