Shopping List for Our Easy and Succulent Thanksgiving Menu

23 November 2010 Leave a Comment

By Audrey van Petegem, Senior Editor

Now that we have provided the easiest and most succulent Thanksgiving menu…

  1. The magnificent appetizer, the Baked Brie with Caramelized Onions
  2. The ridiculously easy to make, so delicious Tomato Consommé
  3. The elegant and palate cleansing Crab with Grapefruit Salad
  4. The recipe for the main attraction, the Turkey itself
  5. And for the requisite Stuffing. The picture is not pretty, but the stuffing is out-of-this-world-delicious
  6. The “secret sauce”, our unbelievable Gravy
  7. The moist and delectable Dutch Apple Torte

… we thought it would only be fair to include the shopping list. We figured this out after Anne-Marie had to dig through the recipes to write her own list. Though, she should really know it by heart after all these years…

Here then is a take-with-you shopping list (just copy & paste & print) to make it oh-so easy for you to get all the ingredients you need:

  • 1 round brie
  • 5 onions
  • 3 1/4 sticks of butter
  • mango chutney
  • red pepper flakes
  • rosemary
  • 1 can Campbell’s Tomato Soup
  • 1 can Campbell’s Consommé
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 can of crabmeat
  • 1 grapefruit
  • mayonnaise
  • seafood sauce
  • lettuce
  • turkey (allow 1 ½ pound per person if you want leftovers)
  • sage
  • black pepper
  • loaf of french bread (day old)
  • celery
  • carrots
  • a package of pine nuts
  • parsley
  • 7 can of low salt chicken broth
  • 6 eggs
  • bay leaf
  • flour
  • balsamic vinegar
  • baking powder
  • sugar
  • 8 to 10 apples
  • cinnamon
  • Vegetable sides of your choice. We didn’t include recipes for the veggies, but we are doing roasted root vegetables and green beans with vinaigrette
  • Oh, and the cranberry sauce. Homemade = fresh cranberries + marmalade + sugar

Happy shopping! Happy Thanksgiving!
