Super Easy and Fun to Make Organic Pancakes – Batter Blaster!

I bought this product at Whole Foods the other day, really prompted by having seen the really fun retro-coll website that the company created for the Batter Blaster Pancake & Waffle Mix. I wanted to test whether its product was as cool as its website. It is.

The Batter Blaster did not disappoint. Really easy to make: shake & point & shoot & flip. The pancakes actually taste very good. They turn out light and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness so that you may not even need syrup. My kids make their own pancakes (usually from a Trader Joe’s mix) on the weekends, but this might well be a fun alternative for school days.  If the product had not been organic, or if it would have contained nasty stuff like corn syrup, I never would have touched it, but I was swayed by the clever marketing and the organic labeling.

This cheesy (wrong food group, I know) but cute video explains it all…

Verdict: definitely passes my family’s test. You should give it a try. The older kids allowed around the stove will have fun with this. Ok, and some of the adults too. Good for those that say they can’t even boil water!

We make waffles with it every Sunday. It tastes delicious. We get ours from Costco.

I’ve been a Batter Blaster fan for months! It’s great, great stuff. It’s a great way to have fun with the kids. They love to make shapes!

saw this on kirtsy, i’m skeptical. i’m a from scratch and whole grains kinda girl, but i’m intrigued. also a costco shopper, so i’ll look for it there and maybe try it. thx for heads up.

I know. I would have been skeptical too. For me, looking for the least possible amount of processing in my food is primordial. As a budding raw-foodist, this is even more important. The list of ingredients seems perfectly inoffensive, so i think that you should find it ok. Am i gullible to think that because the Batter Blaster is sold at Whole Foods, it’s a good quality product? Anyhoo, all these parameters came into play as I made the split second decision to buy this product. In the end, my family really enjoyed it. Definitely give it a try and let me know what you think of it!

I have to disagree, with the other comments! I tried the batter blaster, first at my mother in laws house, and the pancakes had a good flavor, an aerosol bitter afterbite though and they were fly and rubbery! Then I decided to try it for myself thinking that the date on the can was just old, but I again experienced the same results, no matter how I tried to cook them, just a little batter or alot, they always came out flat, flat, flat, not like a fluffy pancake, but like a piece of paper flat. and yes I did shake the can well and followed all the directions! I was very sad because i liked the idea and it being organic appealed to me too, but they were horrible and my kids did not like them at all and they are two and three who loooove buckwheat pancakes which i normally make! Well try it for yourself and for the ladies that had good luck with it let me know what you did to make them unlike flat discus’, please?!

Hummmmm. Well the Batter Blaster pancakes are definitely not the fluffiest pancakes around. More like crepes… But my kids still love them and have fun making them in all sorts of shapes and letters. And we didn’t taste the aerosol aftertaste, but we might not have those taste buds quite up to snuff. Sounds like this product might not be working for you in it’s present state. Good opportunity to let the manufacturer know for their next round of product improvements!
