Support a Teen Entrepreneur’s Cause – Buy ChariTotes
By Audrey van Petegem, Senior Editor
When I first met Taylor Greenberg Goldy, I asked her to speak to the person in charge of ChariTotes. Little did I know that this young, bright, 17 year old was the brainchild behind ChariTotes Design-A-Bag!
What a great story this is: When Taylor was volunteering at her local hospital in the pediatric ward, she would spend time with children who had cancer. She came up with the idea for an activity that would have them decorate their own canvas tote bags with markers, crayons and stickers. The kids loved doing this so much that she thought of creating a kit that people could buy and with it, she could raise some money for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, thus supporting children with cancer on a bigger scale. That’s how the ChariTotes Design-A-Bag project was born.
Each kit comes with a white canvas bag, fabric markers, crayons, a sketchbook, stencils and stickers.
At this moment, the ChariTotes site is brand-spanking new with content still being added, but you can already find a kid-friendly storybook that explains the fight against cancer. The tote bag is Taylor’s first product, but she is already coming up with other items, such as aprons and cardboard play ovens that can also be embellished.
We love supporting young people with bright minds who follow their passion and help a worthy cause. If you also want to support Taylor and the Pediatric Cancer Foundation at this time, you can buy ChariTotes on Amazon for $17.99.
BTW, not only is this a cause-worthy gift idea for kids but it’s also a great gift idea for children to create a tote bag for their mother or grandmother for this upcoming Mother’s Day.
