Burton History Trees – The Original Word Cloud

By Anne-Marie Kovacs, Chief Wife
Father’s Day is coming up. Might you have a rabid vintage music fan as a husband, father, brother? Or a wannabe music historian? The Burton History Trees are for them. What an absolutely fantastic – and exciting – gift idea for those hard-to-shop-for men.
The Burton Trees are unique kind of wall art, a visual & artistic rendition of music history. These graphic “trees” document music history along the recognized “format” of the family tree. Each tree is arranged by chronological order, where the roots describe the “building blocks” of an era, a band or musical genre. The [...]

Wrenchware – For a Father’s Day

By Audrey van Petegem, Senior Editor
Maybe I am dating myself but when I saw this line of dinnerware I automatically thought of Tim Allen’s man grunt in the 1990′s TV sitcom, Home Improvement.
Wrenchware has a collection of cutlery, bowls, plates and yes, even wine glasses, specifically geared to that guy who lives and breathes cars. If you know a guy’s-guy, car maniac type of dad, the tire bowl, piston cup and wrenchware cutlery (that comes in its own molded plastic box), would add an unexpected complement to his Father’s Day breakfast. The Wrenchware cutlery also comes in a smaller size [...]

Swivl – A Personal Cameraman

By Audrey van Petegem, Senior Editor
Sometimes I come across a product that has yet to hit the market and I can hardly wait until it does, so I can sing its praises for you here. Swivl by Satari is one of these products. I became aware of Satari when I started following their progress through Indiegogo (a crowd funding platform similar to Kickstarter) over a year ago. I was really rooting for this personal “cameraman for hands-free videoing and I was happy to see other people could conceptualize, not only how cool this product was but, how it could revolutionize [...]

BBQ Successories

By Audrey van Petegem, Senior Editor
In our home we try not to be gender specific, but clearly the BBQ is my husband Scott’s domain (as mentioned in a previous article). Very early into our marriage, I was using our BBQ and I did not completely fasten on the gas tank. When I lit the grill, flames started spewing out of the tank also. Let’s just say I almost burned down the house and have been traumatized ever since. But, since it is one of Scott’s passions I am always looking for products that will enhance the barbecuing experience.
(PS: Photo at [...]

With Father’s Day here next month, this might be the solution that you have been looking for. If you have a dad who is just plain practical, he may be thrilled to receive the Sock of the Month or the Undies of the Month club. What about for the man who is the [...]

May 24th Long Weekend – The Start to BBQ Season

By Audrey van Petegem, Senior Editor
Some men take their grilling pretty seriously. My husband Scott is definitely one of them. He would, if he could, barbecue everything. We have been loyal owners of both the charcoal and gas Weber barbecues for most of our married life. My husband faithfully cleans them, pampers them and loves accessorizing them. To Scott, grilling on a fine barbecue is like driving a fine car. It is not only about the performance but also about being aesthetically pleasing. Here are three that Scott has put on his wish list.

All Purpose Outdoor Grill with Pizza Stone and [...]
