The Game of Things™ for LOL Moments

3 April 2009 No Comment

By Audrey van Petegem, Contributing Editor

things-the-gameDid you know that board games are making a big comeback? Makes sense as we are all refocusing on things that are important to us and make us happy. Board games are one of the most fun ways ways to spend – inexpensive – quality time with family and friends. There is nothing like a great board game to bring on the laughs. Much needed these days…

Invite over a few friends over and grab the Game of THINGS.  The only premise of the game is to answer questions that start with “Things you…”.  For example, “Things you shouldn’t do with glue” or “Things you wish worked by remote control”.  Each player writes their answer and gives them to the assigned reader (everyone gets a chance to be the reader) to read them out loud. Then each person in turn tries to figure out who said what.  People come up with the most hysterical answers.

My husband and I have played THINGS many times, with different groups of friends and family and they’ve all loved it.  In fact, we have friends that now simply invite themselves over to play the game (with us!).  Since they bring the food and drinks, we’re game with it, literally!  We’ve played with my sister and brother-in-law, whom we only see twice a year up in Canada. Still, a recurring conversation theme is the hysterical answers – now inside jokes – that were produced by the game. I laugh just thinking about them.

The Things Game by Hasbro can be purchased online at www.amazon.com or find it at Target in the US. The list of retailers in Canada (this game was conceived in Canada, btw) can be found here.

LLOL just waiting for you.
