Wardrobe Fundamentals by Kate Boggiano

kate boggiano logoI ran into lots of cool independent designers and boutiques at Chicago’s Sidewalk Sale (put on by the Chicago Department of Cultural affairs, bless their heart) in Daley Plaza last month. Kate Boggiano’s collection is one that caught my attention immediately. And, while Kate B. actually focuses her designs on high-quality, non-trendy women’s shirts and blouses, it is her wardrobe-must-have-basics leggings and tank tops that had me going.

Good, comfortable leggings are not so easy to find. That is, until I bought a pair of Kate’s capri (cropped) leggings. Her long and cropped leggings come in an assortment of good basic colors. They are made of a nylon/spandex fabric that I liken to a classic dance leotard: durable and “sturdy” and with a perfectly comfy stretch factor. I and am happy to report that the waist doesn’t roll or pinch and neither do the legs below the knee.

I also bought a tank top for my daughter and wish that I had also bought a few for myself. The rainbow of available colors make these tank tops perfect for layering. The one-size-fits-all is comfortable. They are made of the same fabric as the leggings and won’t roll up. I also like that the tanks come in discounted prepackaged color sets. Did I mention that they are great for layering?

You don’t have to come to Chicago to buy them. Simply go online, right here.
