xmarxit-logoSo simple but so effective. Instead of having to re-read the same paragraph(s) as you search to see where you last stopped reading (because we can’t always make it to the end of the chapter!), just line up the Xmarxit bookmark with the last line that you read, wedge into the crease of the book and you are ready to pick up on the exact line where you left off.
xmarxit-how-to
As with the majority of products that I like to bring to your attention, this one is also developed by a small, independent enterprise started by a very passionate person. Ken is a firefighter and artist by trade.  He invented this product because he wanted to be more efficient when reading, so that he could read MORE. Ken is so, so passionatexmarxit-design about reading and believes that anyone  – adults and kids alike – can become whatever they wish to be through reading and education. This is why Xmarxit puts their money where their mouth is. They donate officially to First Book ($.05 for each bookmark sold) and unofficially to many non-profit organizations that contact them, such as CheerfulGivers, kids, schools, libraries. They calculate that they have surely given away more than they have sold).

Xmarxit comes in many cool graphic designs and now feature some biodegradable plastics, laser cut paper and metal versions. They also customize designs, which makes for pretty cool and unique marketing swag if you ask me. This small company, like so many others has been trying to get their product into the hands of avid reader, Oprah’s, so if anyone has an in… Ahem.

The Xmarxit retails for about $1.99 per unit, or $5.00 for a pack of 3. You can find them online at Paper Orchid or buy them directly at Xmarxit (retail process is a little convoluted at this moment) or check out their list of retailers.

I bought a few for myself and to give away with books, still one of my favorite gifts to give.
