Shoe Review ~ Wearable Nudes

It's following my quest for the perfect nude colored summer shoe that I decided that, really, my efforts should not go to waste and that I should share my short list with you. Because, if I assume correctly, you are, like me, fashion conscious, though not a slave to trends. Being over 40, we want something that is sexy without being trampy; something dignified without being stuffy; something comfortable that isn't frumpy; something affordable that doesn't look cheap. And something that we can actually walk in, since our lifestyle doesn't really permit a whole lot of the shoes that can only be worn comfortably when you are not standing in them…

So, my first craving for the season is a nude sandal that goes with everything: any color, pants or skirts or any length, and that could – technically – go from shopping to dinner. A lot to ask for from a shoe? Actually, I think I found a few winners here:

Tsubo Devana –  I love the architectural and spare look of this sandal, which help make the neutrality of the of nude color even more… neutral. The manageable heel makes it a perfect go-anywhere sandal. Buy at Tsubo for $100.
Jollen Espadrilles – This little slingback features almost every trend of the season: nude color, espadrille, wedge, peep-toe. The slingback adds a definite elegance that is well balance by the jute for everyday wearability. Buy at Bloomingdale's for $130.
Kork-ease® Teresa Sandals – I have a major crush on this strappy sandal wich is made by Kork-Ease® and boasts their signature, step-softening rubber heels. Buy at Sundance Catalog for $150.

Pour La Victoire Jaclyn – OK, so these might be a tad high for the everyday, but aren't they gorgeous? Got great reviews on Piperlime where you can buy them for $268. Who doesn't want to extend the length of their legs by 6 inches every now and then?
Bacio 61 Vandoies Sandal –  I love how the sawtooth traction sole contrast with the prettiness of the metallic nude leather upper. Wear with anything, skirts of any length, formal trousers or jeans… Buy at Lori's Shoes for $126.
Steve Madden Marryy – I love the elegance of this patent wedge espadrille shoe. A little dressy for the farmer's market (?!?!?) but still highly wearable everyday on less casual days. This shoe would look great with anything white… Buy them at Steve Madden for $89.95.
Coach Maleena Wedge – As a rule, I don't buy anything that has logos plastered all over it, as Coach product most often has. Because of that, I have disregarded the brand for a long time. Though I'm glad that I just came across this gorgeous sandal which doesn't seem to have a logo in sight…. Buy at Macy's for $198.
Camper Ankle Strap – Camper makes some of the comfiest shoes around. This sandal has a seriously padded footbed to ensure all day comfort. Cuteness + comfort = winning combo. Buy at Piperlime for $180.
UGG Violet Wedge – I am not an UGG boot wearer. Will never be. I will leave that to the middle school girls that can pull off the look. But, I must admit that I am falling for these very comfortable looking wedges. The kind of shoe that one might never take off. Buy Zappos for $140.
United Nude Mono Jane – So, these are a little far out as compared to others on the list, but I love the United Nude brand that has it's own very distinctive take on how shoes should be designed. And this wedge Mary-Jane actually a really cool mid-season shoe that I would totally wear with denim skirts to give them a little edge. Buy at United Nude for $125.
DV by Dolce Vita Pali – Quite a statement of a shoe. Thankfully, the neutrality of the color legitimizes the wearability of this strappy bootie concoction. And, as opposed to many clunkier versions of the bootie on wedge, I definitely would not feel like I'm wearing hooves on my feet instead of shoes with these. Buy at Lori's Shoes for $80.
Noticeme Sandal – Ironically named since I feel that this sandal is probably the best one on this list at playing up to the Nude requirement. Perhaps, the perfect, elegant subtlety of this sandal will allow the rest of person to be noticed? Buy for approx $59 on Endless.
Darwyn Espadrille Booties – I don't have the type of leg that would allow me to wear this -flatteringly- with skirts. But if I did, I would totally go for these. Especially fun with short skirts and shorts. Buy at Bloomingdale's for $119.
Undine Nude Patent Pump – If I had to “go conservative” for work or other formal events, I would probably get these pleasing passe-partout pumps that could be worn with practically any color. Buy at Lori's Shoes for $94.
Christian Louboutin Newton 70 – The splurge. But the perfect shoe that will probably stay in style forever. And even exceed that term. How to feel elegant, sexy and chic all at the same time. Buy at Net-a-Porter for $795. Only.

Audrey this is a great summary. I was about to go out on a quest for nude sandals this weekend! I like the UGGs the best but Zappos does not ship to canada! I will try the UGG website direct.

By the way, you are very good at copy-writing!

    Hello Andrea,

I can’t take all (or actually any) of the credit. This was inspired by my colleague and the original Succulent Wife herself Anne-Marie Kovacs. But I must say that the UGG’s are actually my favorite also.
